pigsar™ is one of the world’s leading high-pressure test facilities for gas meter calibration and verification and provides the state-defined basic unit of measurement "National Standard of the Federal Republic of Germany for High-Pressure Natural Gas". In association with and under the control of the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology (PTB), pigsar™ carries out calibrations and verifications as an independent laboratory.
Precision provides certainty
Since 1993 pigsar™ has been operating a high-pressure test facility for gas meters with what is currently the highest possible measurement accuracy.
Depending on the flow range the measurement uncertainty varies between 0.13 and 0.16 per cent (double standard deviation). pigsar™ tests are carried out using natural gas at pressures very close to the conditions actually encountered by the meters in the field. This allows us to prevent additional uncertainties due to differences in pressures or gas composition between our test facility and the customer’s M&R station. This precision gives our customers peace of mind and creates trust.
It is not without reason that the work done at pigsar™ has gained wide national and international acceptance among government agencies, international metrological institutes, meter manufacturers as well as operators of metering systems in the gas industry and other industries.
